Leadership Profiles

Kathryn Pernell, MA

Kathryn Pernell's role as president of AP Professional Services includes sales and marketing, finances and contract negotiations. Kathryn holds both a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts in Humanities and the Arts from Florida State University (FSU).

Prior to AP Professional Services, Kathryn worked with the Fuller, Johnson, and Farrell Law Office in Tallahassee, Fla. as a legal assistant and bookkeeper. She also has a great deal of experience in the arts and education, having worked for both the Mary Brogan Museum of Arts and Science in Tallahassee and in the Education Department of the British Museum in London, England. In addition, Kathryn previously taught a course called “Multicultural Film and Twentieth Century Culture” at FSU. 

In her time outside of work, Kathryn volunteers as a member of the Board of Directors of The Tallahassee Ballet, currently serving as treasurer on the Executive Committee, and an Active member of the Junior League of Tallahassee.


Brittney Aucutt, PMP

As vice president of operations for AP Professional Services, Brittney Aucutt oversees business development, sales and marketing and the management of potential clients. Brittney previously worked for the Department of Health in Tallahassee, Fla., managing the development and implementation of a more than $500,000 cell phone reimbursement project as well as the Management Information and Payment System Conversion Project.

Brittney’s six years of project management experience also include her time working at Brandt Information Services in Tallahassee and McLeod USA in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Previously in her career, she also owned her own photography business, Brittney Custom Photography, and served as a consultant for Columbia Coffee Federation in New York City and Washington, D.C. Brittney received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Iowa and is a certified Project Management Professional.


Jason Pernell, MBA, EE

Jason Pernell currently serves as principal, treasurer and project manager for AP Professional Services. Jason earned both a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration from Florida State University. He is a member of the Project Management Institute and holds a Master Certificate in Project Management from Villanova University.

Throughout his career, Jason has garnered a great deal of experience in both project management and electrical engineering. Before AP Professional Services, he worked as a program manager for Tallahassee Technologies, managing multiple PC-based computer hardware and software systems. He also worked as an electrical engineer for Tallahassee Technologies, General Dynamics Land Systems and the FSU Physics Department.


Shawn Aucutt, PMP

Shawn Aucutt brings a wealth of project management experience to AP Professional Services, where he serves as a principal, secretary and project manager. Prior to his current position, he was a program manager for Tallahassee Technologies. In this role, he managed the production of the Ruggedized Personal Data Assistant, among other responsibilities. Before Tallahassee Technologies, Shawn worked in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, as a program manager for Siemens ILG and as a senior manager PM for McLeod USA, where he managed more than $2 billion in telecommunications projects.

Shawn graduated from the University of Iowa and holds a Master Certificate in Project Management from Villanova University. He is a certified Project Management Professional.



Craig Kirkland

Craig Kirkland serves as vice president of business development for AP Professional Services. Craig has a unique background in systems architecture, engineering design and strategic operations that helps him identity business needs and connect them with solutions offered by AP Professional Services. His diverse professional background includes high technology product design for manufacturing, systems integration, engineering, network operations, quality assurance, client support and marketing.

Prior to joining the AP team, Craig headed engineering teams in Tallahassee, Fla. for Elbit Systems of America, Tallahassee Technologies and FASBAC Enterprises. He also worked as a software engineer for E-Systems in St. Petersburg, Fla., Martin Marietta Electronic Systems and Martin Marietta Missile Systems in Orlando, Fla.

Craig holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from Northeast Louisiana University and a Master of Science in Computer Science with an emphasis on Logic Design and Switching Theory from the Florida Institute of Technology.
